It was a damn good night
It was a very good night in fact, with a fantastic turnout, a really good atmosphere, great catering, venue and party afterwards. An evening that was always going to end to end too soon (even if it did end at 6am the next day, or even later for the diehards).
Thanks to all who came, and if you didn't- well, you missed out. Hope to see you next time.
Send us your photos and reminscences
We'll keep this site going for a bit yet (till the end of the year?) for there will never be a better chance to share your pictures and opinions of the evening than now (until the next one of course). We'd also appreciate if you'd pass on your email address to help keeping in touch for any other reunion that might take place and to do that, use the details on the Contact Us page.
Soon to be added will be pictures from the night, and school photos from Holm and maybe Westray.
Also, the list of everybody who was there.
Thanks Jill and Sheona
Thanks to Jill for the fantastic generosity of hosting a big post-reunion party on the night in addition to the tireless organisational and tracking down efforts of the previous year.
Also thanks to Sheona for baking a very fine cake that we tucked into at the party, but actually should have cut up at the Legion so everybody could have enjoyed it.
Lets start the nostalgia early and keep the old out of date news...
Get your tickets!
Not long now, and already 50% more tickets sold than last time, and it was a good night I can tell you.
Tickets still available, but if you are intending to go and don't have a ticket please get one soon so we can tell the caterers how many spam fritters to make (just kidding about the fritters).
To save you having to phone or write, tickets are available by accosting a committee member or from our retail outlet at Nicolson's Solicitors in Bridge Street Wynd (courtesy of Lows Orkney- why not buy a house at the same time?). Ask for Linda.
As we look forward to meeting old friends at the reunion, we should remember those who are no longer alive- Albert Reid from Kirkwall, and David Soames from Rousay.
Class Reunion? Eh?
If you did not go to Kirkwall Grammar School and are too young to remember Marine Boy, please look away now.
If on the contrary you fondly remember that Cresta was 'Frothy, man', and the days when Action Man had realistic hair, then read on...
You'll be forty or thereabouts then?
Sorry to rub it in.
But since you may well be eligible to come along to the Class Reunion, you have every reason to celebrate.
Am I eligible?
If you can recall being in the same year as any of the organisers, hell yes.
